Roasted Chicory Root

I love the earthiness of roasted chicory root. It makes a great coffee substitute and has a lot of health benefits. Here are some of them:

  • helpful for water retention
  • gout
  • loss of appetite
  • digestive problems
  • gallstones
  • helps the body absorb more calcium

There are a few great blends out there with roasted chicory root in it. Look for coffee substitutes as well as roasted tea blends. Celestial Seasonings has a blend that I like that they carry in Whole Foods.
