Chowder - Should I Make It Low Fat?

I am making a seafood chowder tomorrow and I am wondering... should I bother making it low fat? Part of the fun of chowder is the delicate taste and its creaminess. By cutting corners on fat, I think I'd be missing out. I've learned that managing my weight is about more than deprivation. Learning to balance my diet and my life is even more important. So, I would eat a tiny bowl, and accompany it with a large salad.
