Healthy Mexican Food

Mexican food doesn't need to be filled with cheese and fat. In fact, traditional Mexican food is not like that at all. That is our Americanized perception.

Progress Update: Body for Life

Well, I have two more workouts to go for this week- one cardio, and one lower body and abs. I don't see any reason why I can't do both of them today.

At first, I was just doing the challenge on my own. But, part of me is thinking that doing the original challenge will be a lot of fun.

Keeping an organized home

When things get busy, one of the first things that gets neglected is my sense of household organization. I am a work at home writer. When I have a deadline, the last thing I want to worry about is the laundry or the dishes. But thanks to the flylady, she helps me get things under control... somewhat.

Finally... snow

All those talks in Paris this week about Global Warming have been quite enlightening. Of course, most of us have figured out that something is really not right with the climate. Polar bears are drowning, the ice in the arctic is melting, we've hardly gotten any snow here in New England and we've actually seen near 70 degree days, and there are climate related catastrophes all over the place. But who's to say how much of it is normal and how much is man made? Well anyway, it finally snowed more than an inch. My bet is that it will be melted by the end of the week.

Well, as I exercise more, I feel my nutritional needs shifting. My muscles need protein to feed them and make them stronger. For a while, I had no interest in protein rich foods. Perhaps it was because I wasn't hitting the weights as hard? The key is to get a nice balance between healthy carbs and protein and honor my food cravings.
