Making Your Own Gift Baskets

Have you considered making your own gift baskets for Valentine's Day gifts? There are plenty of healthier and more natural alternatives to the standard items. Most larger natural food stores have a good sized cosmetics section. You can find things like great smelling body lotions, makeup, perfumes, soaps, etc... Also check out the dark organic chocolates.

Making your own products is another alternative. Here is a simple recipe for a yummy chocolate candy I sometimes make in a gift-giving pinch.

One cup chocolate chips.
1/4 cup chopped nuts

Melt chocolate in microwave or over a double burner. Stir in nuts. Drop on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet and let harden in the fridge.

Valentine's Day

Valentine's day is around the corner. Have you ordered your Valentine Flowers yet? This is a busy time of year for the flower shops so placing your order early will help prevent any last minute mishaps.

There are other alternatives to flowers. You can try giving chocolate. You can try making something. You can take your sweetheart out to dinner. You can do all of these things. You can get them a card. You can make them a card... But most of all, remember to have fun!

Arcade games

I used to love going to the arcade at the beach with my family. I loved it all- skee ball, whack the moll, the game where you shoot the guns at the aliens, the car games, fight games, the games where you get a ticket and win a prize... Nothing brings me back to my childhood like these games.

There are some many games now I can't keep track. Golden Tee Complete. Tomb Raider on playstation. Computer games. All those games for the hand held video game units. There are so many options, it is overwhelming.

They used to be a novelty, now they are so much a part of our culture... I am not sure if it is a good or bad thing...

Do you know anyone who has a bextra lawsuit pending? Bextra is another of those drugs that is causing adverse and complicated side effects. You know, that is why I am such a believer in herbal medicine. Herbs heal your body gently. Your body seldom becomes addicted to them. A classic example is willow bark. In folk medicine willow bark is used for pain, stomach problems, etc. A derivative from willow bark- "asprin" causes stomach problems. How odd it is that the derivative has a side effect that the plant fixes...

Metal Beauty

The price of gold is something that doesn't usually concern me. In fact, I wish I knew more about investing. I think gold is beautiful, so if I wanted to diversify my investments I can't think of a better place to start.

I guess if I were really serious about it I could start my research by doing a google search. I could search under --investing in gold-- or something like that.

I love pearl jewelry. The concept of a beautiful pearl coming from an animal deep in the sea is very intriguing. I have some artificial pearls in my jewelry collection, but I don't think they compare to tbe beauty of the real thing.

Pearls are classic. Some people think they don't look "hip" or "chic" but you can take anything you like and wear it and make it your own. If you like it, it fits your personal style. Wear it and make it chic!
